Ursodeoxycholic Acid is a bile acid which is produced naturally by the body. It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol released by our liver and by slowly dispersing it while breaking up the stones. Some ursodeoxycholic acid preparations can also help to treat primary biliary cholangitis. The dosage of UDCA in primary biliary cholangitis (stages I-III), amounts to 12-15 mg/kg/day which is equivalent to two to four tablets of 300 mg, to be taken in two to three portions during the day.

Aluminum Hydroxide, Magnesium Hydroxide & Simethicone combination of antacid is used to treat the symptoms of stomach upset, heartburn & acid indigestion. Sucralfate & Oxetacaine combination is used in the treatment of acidity, heartburn & stomach ulcers. Sucralfate is a medication to treat ulcers. It covers the damaged ulcer tissue in the stomach and protects it from acid or injury to facilitate healing. Oxetacaine is a local anesthetic whose numbing effect provides fast relief from pain caused due to ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach. Take this medication on an empty stomach & around the same time, 2 hours after or 1 hour before meals. Common side effects are constipation, allergic reaction etc.

Lactulose 10gm Solution
Lactulose is used to treat chronic constipation. Lactulose solution is also used to treat or prevent complications of liver disease. It is available in generic form. The usual adult, oral dosage of lactulose solution is 2 to 3 tablespoons (30 to 45 ml which contains around 20gm to 30gm of lactulose in it) three or four times daily. Lactulose solution may interact with antacids, so anyone should be cautious about the medication they are having.
